The 3rd International Tournament was held from May 14 and June 8, 1936 in Moscow’s famous Hall of Columns, USSR.
This was the third edition of the international chess tournament in Moscow after the previous ones held in 1925 and 1935.
This time, five Soviets chess masters and five foreigners chess masters competed in a double round robin competition. If the previous events were won by Mikhail Botvinnik and Salomon Flohr respectively, on this occasion, the winner was Jose Raul Capablanca.
